Superman's wife has passed away.

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - Dana Reeve, who won worldwide admiration for her devotion to her "Superman" husband, Christopher Reeve, through his decade of near-total paralysis, has died of lung cancer at the age of 44. Reeve, a singer-actress who gave up some of her own career to be one of the nation's best-known caregivers, died late Monday at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Medical Center, said Kathy Lewis, president of the Christopher Reeve Foundation.

Huh? She and Chris Reeve were both pioneers in the fight for the allowance of stem cell research in medicinal exploration. That alone is of significance. Plus while she wasn't a great actress or anything, she was very well thought of as a singer. Had she not been married to Christopher Reeve, she would have probably had a very successful career of her own both singing and acting, but she did very little of both while being her husband's caregiver after his horse riding accident.

I'll give you a pass on that since you're a lil younger--but dude, isn't that a bit insensitive to say about someone who just died of cancer, regardless of who they are/aren't?

It's not that, it's just that people probably die of lung cancer every day, and her death is no different than the others.

Why not recognize them as well? Sure, their deeds may not have been as "swell" as Mrs. Superman's, but they're humans too.

I'm sure she's not the only lady who's had lung cancer and helped make advances in medical exploration/research.

How sad. And she was not even a smoker. Lung cancer is the #1 cancer killer among those who smoke and some non-smokers.
So does second hand smoke have anything to do with it?

Oscar-winner Robin Williams insists he will take care of the orphaned son of Christopher and Dana Reeve, after the teenager's mother died of lung cancer last week.

Williams was always close to the 'Superman' star, who passed away in October 2004, as they had studied acting together at the Juilliard school of drama in New York City.

And after Reeve suffered the riding accident which left him paralyzed from the neck down in 1995, the Goodwill Hunting star was quick to assure the family he would never desert them - and he is standing by his vow to care for 13-year-old Will.

A relative of Dana's says, "He has already been making good on a promise he made to Chris in 1995."

"They were closer than brothers and Robin swore then and there that he would look after Dana and Will after Chris was gone."

"Both of them knew Chris might not last long but neither of them could possibly have imagined the tragedy that would befall Dana so soon after Chris's own death."
